Child
Management:
Children
are redirected and given options regarding their behavior. Infants
and toddlers are redirected to another toy or activity. If your
child is in need of discipline we use the 1,2,3 time-out method.
It is one minute per year of age. We will remove them from the play
area for their time-out. After the time has elapsed we will sit
with them and discuss why they were given the time-out. If they
hurt the feeling of another child or were not sharing they are asked
to apologize to the other child.
Our
goal is not to humiliate or be-little your child. We are not pushovers
but are fair and firm and will make every effort to talk openly
and honestly with you about your child's behavior on a daily basis.
School
Age Children:
We
offer transportation to and from Dundonald and St. Peters Schools
as well as neighborhood preschools.
Infants:
Parents
are responsible for providing diapers, wipes, creams, formula, bottles,
bibs, changes of clothes and any other necessities.
Sick
Children:
We
cannot have sick children in the daycare as they may make the providers
and/or the other children sick. You will be called to pick up your
child if he/she is vomiting or has a high temperature. If your child
is sick please keep them at home until they have been on antibiotics
for at least 24 hours.
If
your child has a communicable disease: chicken pox, head lice, mumps,
etc. please keep them at home until they are no longer contagious.
We will contact the public health nurse and follow their recommendation
and share the information with you.
Medication:
We
will administer medication to children after the parent has already
administered it for 24 hours. We will also require the parent to
sign a permission slip for us to administer the medication.
